What this pathway is
A complete ADHD medication and treatment journey built for adults who want clarity, safety and consistent support. You get structured monitoring, clear timelines and no vague back and forth.
Starting Medications
Usually within 1 to 2 weeks after diagnosis once your safety checks are done.
Titration phase
Usually 6 to 10 weeks depending on how your body responds to dose adjustments.
Shared care
Timelines vary because your GP decides this. Some approve in days, some don’t accept at all.
Making Sure This Medication Pathway Fits Your Needs
To ensure rapid access to medication, prescriptions are issued through our trusted digital pharmacy partner. Paper prescriptions remain available on request, but due to Scottish regulations on prescription pad supply, these may incur a longer wait
This is for you if
• You’ve completed your ADHD assessment with us and are now moving into medication
• You’re ready to complete your safety checks like GP summary and blood pressure
• You want clear guidance on medication options and how titration works
• You prefer structured dose adjustments rather than a one off prescription
• You want support managing side effects and finding the right medication
• You want a safe, clinically guided pathway with regular reviews
You’re open to shared care if your GP agrees later on
It might not be right today if
• You need urgent or crisis support
• You mainly want a quick prescription without monitoring
• You live outside the UK and primarily seek medication supply
• You’re unable to complete the required safety checks
• You already have a current NHS or private prescriber managing your ADHD medication
• You’re only looking for shared care and do not require ongoing medication management
• You prefer informal advice instead of structured clinical appointments
If you are in crisis or feel unsafe, please contact NHS 111, your GP, or emergency services, rather than booking a screening call.
Medication Cost
If you decide to start ADHD medication after your assessment, here’s a clear breakdown of what to expect.
Initial Medication Appointment £295
This 45 to 60 minute appointment is where your medication journey starts.
You and the prescriber look at how ADHD affects your daily life, your routines, and your goals.
They review your medical history, discuss treatment options and create a plan that fits you.
If medication is right for you, your first prescription is issued during this appointment.
You’ll get the most from this session if you:
• Reflect on the areas of life you want to improve
• Note what’s working, what’s not
• Bring questions about side effects, routines or dose adjustments
Titration and Follow Up (£195 per appointment)
Most patients need around 3 to 4 follow ups, usually spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart.
This is where your clinician adjusts your dose, checks symptoms and side effects, and fine tunes the medication until it actually works for you.
Everyone’s pace is different. Some need fewer appointments, some need more.
You’ll be guided step by step until you reach a stable, effective dose.
Prescriptions, Medication Costs and Shared Care
Private prescriptions:
During titration and early treatment, all prescriptions are private.
ADHD medication usually costs £50 to £120 per month, depending on brand, dose and pharmacy.
Repeat prescriptions:
• £45 if sent through our online pharmacy service
• £55 if we send the prescription to you to use at your local pharmacy
(Medication itself is paid directly to the pharmacy)
Shared Care:
Once you’re stable, we request shared care with your GP so they can take over NHS prescribing.
If your GP agrees, you only pay for 6 monthly medication reviews (£295).
If your GP does not accept shared care, we continue prescribing privately with the same repeat prescription fees above.
