Testimonials

Clear steps. Real support. Every time.

AuDHD Psychiatry´s Autism assessment in 5 simple steps

A calm clear process. You always know what will happen next.

Step
1

Autism Initial Screening Call

· Early guidance · Clear next steps · Supportive first contact

Your screening call helps us understand your experiences, clarify your main concerns, and decide the most appropriate assessment pathway for you.

After the call, we’ll walk you through what to expect, how the full autism assessment works, and any preparation needed.

If you’re not ready for a full assessment yet, we’ll still guide you on options, support, and resources so you always know your next step.

Step
2

Book your Autism Appointment

· Usually seen in around 7 to 14 days

Choose your appointment online

Once you’ve booked, we’ll send over a few short forms to help your clinician get to know you.

We send a clear email with what to expect and how to join the call.

Step
3

Diagnostic interview with you

· One-to-one conversation · Strengths and challenges · Real life examples

Your assessment takes place over a relaxed video call that lasts around 90–120 minutes.

We’ll talk about your childhood, work, study, relationships, masking and sensory needs.

This is a structured interview that follows NICE guidance for adult Autism.

Step
4

Informant interview

· Daily life · Informant Call · Current Support

We also speak to someone who knows you well.

This might be a parent, partner, close relative or long term friend.

They share what they have noticed over the years.

Step
5

Diagnosis, full report and next steps

· Clear diagnosis · Detailed report · Tailored next steps

Your clinician brings all the information together and reaches a clear decision.

You receive a detailed written report that explains your Autism profile and what this means day to day.

The report is written so you can share it with your GP, employer or university and for Access to Work.

We also talk through options for what happens next, such as ADHD assessment, therapy, coaching or support with letters and forms.

All assessments are carried out by UK regulated clinicians and follow NICE recommendations for adult Autism.

Adult Autism assessment frequently asked questions

It is normal to have questions before you book.

Taking the first steps to understand your Autism can feel overwhelming, but our team is ready to guide you with clarity and support.

Our assessments follow NICE recommendations for adult Autism.
Your report is written so it is easy to share with:

• your GP
• employers and HR teams
• university or college disability services
• Access to Work

If you need a letter that explains things in a different way, you can ask us and we will talk through options.

The main clinical steps are similar.
Both follow NICE guidance.

The key differences are:

• waiting time is usually weeks not years
• appointments are online, which can be easier for many Autistic adults
• you get more time to talk about masking, burnout and your real life
• reports are often ready faster and written in clear plain English

A private report does not replace the NHS, but it can help you and your GP plan next steps sooner.

Yes, Many Autistic adults also have ADHD or other conditions.
If we think ADHD might also be present, we can:

• offer a separate ADHD assessment
• or you can choose a combined ADHD plus Autism assessment pathway

We will always explain what we recommend and why.

We do offer payment options for Autism, ADHD and Combined assessments.

Payment options can change over time, so the easiest way to check is:

• look at the pricing section on this page
• or contact our team and ask about current payment options

We are also exploring more ways to spread the cost without adding unfair fees.

Yes, this is one of the most common worries we hear.

Many adults who come to us:
• have masked for many years
• have done well at work or study on the outside
• feel like they are falling apart inside

We do not judge or tell you that you are making a fuss.
We listen, to take your story seriously and to give you a clear honest answer.
