Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We’re here to help.

Understanding your child’s behaviour can feel confusing and overwhelming. Our clinicians answer the most common questions parents ask, so you can feel clear, supported, and confident about what happens next.

Yes. Our autism assessments follow NICE guidance and our reports are written in a SENCO friendly format that schools recognise.

Schools need clear evidence that describes strengths, needs, masking patterns, and impact in the classroom. Our reports include this structure, making it easy for teachers, SENCO and pastoral staff to put the right support in place.

Yes. Your GP will receive a clinician written summary that meets NHS expectations for recognising a private autism diagnosis.

GPs need a detailed clinical report, developmental history and clear diagnostic criteria. All of this is included, which allows your GP to document the diagnosis on your child’s records and refer to other NHS services if needed.

This is very normal. Many autistic children present differently depending on environment, structure and sensory demands.

We look at patterns across both settings. Differences between home and school do not reduce diagnostic accuracy. In fact, the contrast often provides important clinical insight.

Masking is extremely common, and our clinicians are trained to spot the subtle signs even when a child appears to “cope well” in structured environments.

Masking means a child works extra hard to hide their autistic traits. We assess this through parent interviews, school feedback, behavioural patterns, and specific tools designed to detect masking.

Yes. Our clinicians are trained in recognising internalised, subtle and high-masking autism profiles often seen in girls.

Girls frequently present with quieter traits, social compensations and masking strategies that traditional assessments miss. Our approach specifically accounts for these profiles.

You will receive your child’s full diagnostic report within 7-14 days of the final session.

Definition:
A report must include:

• assessment findings
• diagnostic criteria
• strengths and needs
• masking profile
• school recommendations
• GP summary

We include all of these to ensure your report is fully recognised.
