Service Update | AuDHD Psychiatry

Last Updated: June 08, 2026

Please read this notice carefully. As a Scotland-based clinic, AuDHD Psychiatry is directly affected by Scottish prescribing regulations for controlled drugs. This means there has been an important change to how all patient prescriptions are processed, regardless of where you live.

WHAT HAS CHANGED AND WHY

AuDHD Psychiatry is based in Scotland, which means all of our prescribing is governed by Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS). ADHD medications are controlled drugs and must be prescribed using signed paper prescriptions under Scottish law.

We are no longer able to use the Private Pharmacy Group (PPG) via the electronic prescribing system to dispense medication for any of our patients. We have to post your prescription. This is a legal requirement and is not within our control.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW

We will now send your paper prescription directly to your home address by secure post. You can then take it to any local pharmacy to have it dispensed. This applies to all patients, wherever you are based in the UK.

Wet ink signature

Your prescriber will sign a paper prescription with a wet ink signature. This is a legal requirement for controlled drugs under Scottish law, which governs all prescriptions issued by AuDHD Psychiatry.

Secure tracked post

We will post the prescription to your registered home address using secure tracked post.

UPDATED PRESCRIPTION FEE

£58.00

per prescription

To cover the cost of secure postal processing, the prescription fee has been updated in line with recent Royal Mail increases. We understand this is a change from what you have been used to, and we are sorry for any inconvenience. This fee reflects the true cost of the additional administration and postage involved.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

Check that your home address on your account is correct before requesting your next prescription.

Request your prescription at least 10 days before you expect to run out of medication.

When your prescription arrives, take it to your local community pharmacy to have it dispensed.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with our admin team and we will do our best to help. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we make this change. Your safety and continuity of care remain our top priority.
