ADHD and Autism can often be misunderstood, overlooked, or masked, particularly in individuals who have spent years trying to adapt without fully understanding why certain challenges persist.

Dr Bano Hassan is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience across NHS and independent practice, specialising in ADHD and Autism assessment for both children and adults.

Her approach combines clinical expertise with a warm, direct, and practical style, helping individuals and families gain a clearer understanding of neurodivergence in a supportive and evidence based way. Dr Hassan has a particular interest in working with people who may have struggled to engage with previous therapeutic approaches, adapting interventions specifically for autistic and ADHD clients to better meet their needs.

Dr Hassan conducts comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessments through virtual consultations, supporting children, adults, and families to better understand neurodevelopmental differences, access appropriate support, and explore practical strategies tailored to daily life.

Alongside diagnostic work, she works therapeutically across CBT, Schema Therapy, DBT, and Compassion Focused Therapy, using evidence based approaches adapted specifically for neurodivergent individuals.

Her specialist background in clinical psychology and cognitive neuropsychology allows her to take a thoughtful, structured, and highly personalised approach to ADHD and Autism assessment, ensuring recommendations are clinically robust, practical, and tailored to each individual’s circumstances.

Academic & Research Contributions

Dr Hassan teaches on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme at University College London, where she also completed her doctoral training. She has published peer reviewed research in the Journal of Neuroscience and Behavioural Neuroscience and remains actively involved in advancing evidence based practice within ADHD and Autism assessment and intervention.
